Canadian Federal Self-Employed Persons Program Immigration
The Canadian Federal Self-employed Person Immigrant program applies to applicants who have relevant experience in cultural activities or sports, and the federal government allows such applicants to become permanent residents of Canada in the form of self-employment, with the intention of contributing to Canada's cultural or sporting endeavors. Athletes, actors, writers, painters, as well as self-employed piano teachers, dance teachers, yoga instructors, etc., can apply for Canadian immigration through the program.
Canadian federal self-employed immigration is a one-step immigration program, there are no mandatory requirements for language and education, visa officers pay more attention to the applicant's experience of self-employment with skills, as long as the minimum score of 35 points is eligible to apply.
Application Requirement:
1. The applicant must have relevant experience in cultural activities or sports, which requires the applicant to:
a. Have participated in, or are self-employed in, world-class cultural or sporting activities;
b. At least 2 years of relevant experience in the 5 years prior to submission of the application:
● Two one-year periods of self-employment experience in cultural or sports activities; or
● Two periods of one-year experience in world-class cultural or sporting activities; or
● One year of self-employment in cultural and sporting activities plus one year of participation in world-class events;
2. Willing and able to engage in self-employment in Canada;
3. Meet the Canadian federal scoring criteria for self-employed immigrants, with a minimum of 35 points out of 100, mainly based on the applicant's relevant experience, education, age, language level and adaptability;
4. Applicants and their families must pass a medical examination, be able to provide proof of no crime, and have sufficient funds to settle down.
Scoring standard
The Canadian federal self-employed immigrant score is based on the following three factors: the documentation provided by the applicant, the score under the scoring criteria and whether they meet the definition of self-employed person, the applicant may be asked to interview during the process to explain unclear or inconsistent information, and the issue of application information gaps.
