Canadian Federal Immigration and provincial nomination program
Canada is committed to welcoming 411,000 new immigrants in 2022, the highest number in Canadian history. However, Canada has no intention to relax its immigration policy because of the completion of immigration targets, since the end of 2018, Canadian immigrants have paid more and more attention to the needs of the local labor market, that is, the needs of employers, and the threshold of independent skilled immigrants without employer support has become very high, coupled with some provincial nominees simply shut down the unemployer-based skilled immigrants program. Making the path to independent skilled immigration in Canada narrower and narrower; On the contrary, employer-sponsored immigration programs in Canada have flourished, and newly launched immigration programs without exception require the support of local Canadian employers.
Canadian immigration programs have the following characteristics:
Can bring spouse and children: Canadian immigrants belong to the whole family immigrants, spouses and applicants under the age of 22 can accompany, can not bring parents;
Resident Obligation: After the success of immigration every 5 years need to accumulate in Canada for 2 years (that is, the so-called Resident Obligation, Resident Obligation is based on individuals, live their own, not a person can be renewed by the whole family), every 5 years do not accumulate 2 years may lose immigration status, until naturalization;
Residence: There is no strict residence limit for Canadian immigrants, Canadian federal immigrants can go to settle anywhere in Canada, and provincial nomination does not require applicants to live in the nominated province, it is recommended that applicants live in the nominated province for at least 3 months or find work in other provinces before moving away;
Benefits: Canadian permanent residents enjoy the same rights as local citizens, the main and deputy applicants can legally work and start businesses in Canada, study according to local student standards, and do not require immigration applicants to work;
Naturalization: After living in Canada for 3 years and passing the naturalization cultural test, you can apply for naturalization. After naturalization, you will no longer be subject to Resident Obligation restrictions. Note that China does not recognize dual nationality;
Sponsor spouse and parent immigration: you can sponsor spouse immigration at any time, sponsor parent Super visa after one year of tax payment, sponsor parent reunion immigration after three years of tax payment (the current annual quota of 10,000, later may increase, but need to draw lots).
Whether it is skilled immigration, employer-sponsored immigration, business immigration (including investment immigration), and reunion immigration are the same, and immigration supervision is to be met every 5 years or more. For employer-sponsored immigrants, applicants need to settle in Canada earlier; for business immigrants, most applicants need to start business operations as soon as possible, but for skilled immigrants and reunion immigrants, in theory, they can continue to stay in China for the first 3 years after obtaining an immigrant visa (only a short entry is required to start immigration status).
At present, Canada is the most relaxed immigration policy and the best place for the welfare of new immigrants, but with the tightening of immigration policies in other countries, a large number of applicants will turn to Canada, and the day of Canadian immigration tightening may be in the near future, "Emigrate before it's too late" is never out of date.
Skilled immigrants in Canada are divided into federal Express Entry categories and provincial nominations, which are further divided into EE provincial nominations and non-EE provincial nominations. Quebec immigrants are not part of Canada's federal immigration program. For the pure Express Entry category, at present, a score of 470 or above is required to be invited, and provincial nomination is undoubtedly the best choice for applicants with moderate qualifications. Canada Express Entry is similar to Australia's 189 independent skilled immigrants, and provinces nominate 190 state-sponsored skilled immigrants similar to Australia.
