Melbourne beauty industry hit hard by COVID lockdowns
17/10/2020
Melbourne’s beauty industry has been one of the hardest hit by the city’s tough lockdowns, with most businesses being forced to shut for seven months this year. Skin clinics, beauty parlours and nail salons were the first to close under the lockdowns, and it is likely they will be the last to open. Businesses are poised to reopen, waiting in hope for Premier Daniel Andrews to potentially give the green light on Sunday. Services will be conducted under a COVID safe plan as soon as businesses are allowed to reopen, but rules which require clients to wear masks may pose a challenge.
