The Secretary for Innovation and Technology of Hong Kong, Alfred SIT Wing-hang, said today that the government had prepared health codes for customs clearance as early as May and June. He pointed out that customs clearance must be orderly, and he believes there will be a quota system.

SIT Wing-hang said that citizens can make an appointment online before passing the customs, and then go to the testing center designated by the Department of Health for testing. If the result is negative, the public can download the health code through the Department of Health website. Applicants for the Hong Kong Health Code must provide the personal information required to pass the customs, such as name, date of birth, ID number and telephone number, etc., together with the name of the center where the applicant conducts the test and the test result. If the applicant agrees, he can transfer the data in his “HK Health” code to the mainland or Macau and obtain the "Guangdong Health Code" and "Macau Health Code". After leaving the territory, he will not be subject to 14-day compulsory quarantine.

SIT Wing-hang also said that Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area are closely connected. He believes that it is important to restore the flow of people across the boundary as soon as possible. In the future, he can also negotiate with governments of different countries to allow Hong Kong citizens to use the health code to travel around the world.

SIT Wing-hang continued that the government is developing an "Infection Risk Notification" mobile app, which will give taxis, restaurants, and other QR codes, and scan the QR codes through the program. The program will record the whereabouts of the owner. For example, the owner once sat, once the taxi driver is diagnosed later, the program will inform the owner of the risk of infection. He pointed out that Hong Kong people are concerned about personal data and may decide for themselves whether to download the program and scan the "QR code." There is no central storage station for all data, "it is stored in your own mobile phone" and will not be uploaded.

The Hong Kong government once distributed copper core anti-epidemic masks in May. When asked when the government will send another mask, SIT Wing-hang said that the authorities expect the epidemic to repeat in winter and are planning to distribute copper core anti-epidemic mask in the next one or two weeks. He said that he originally planned to distribute the second round of masks in early July, but the third wave of epidemic occurred at that time.
