Attention matters
1. According to the provisions of the Foreign Passport Visa Regulations of Taiwan, the visa application will not refund once the application has been submitted.
2. Applicant should honestly state the purpose of the visit. The reason of the visa application should tally witht the purpose of the visit. If the applicant fails to prepare the required documents and the supporting documents of the purpose of visit at the time of delivery, it will affect theapproval or rejection of the application. It is necessary to check the identity of the documents, individual applications in the process of processing if require the additional proof or missing of required documents, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office will notify in writing within the deadline torequest further submission of the relevant documents. The additional processing to deal with it does not limited by the announce processing time limit stated as above.
3. For the people of the Peoples’ Republic of China, please submit the document proof for living out with the Peoples’ Republic of China for at least4 years.
4. Taipei Economic and Cultural Office may issue visas of different types, different validity periods and different residence periods depending on the applicant's identity, the purpose of the application, the type and duration of the foreign passport. On the basis of the exercise of the sovereignty of the State and the maintenance of the national interest, the Department may refuse any application without reason attached.
5. This note takes the latest information published by the Consular Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan.
Delivery method
You can submit the application by the person or agent, if the agent submit on behalf of applicant, the agent is required to prepare the original and a copy of the identity document himself or herself (the applicant please prepare all required documents, if the documents are insufficient, it will affect the processing of the application)

Since April 9, 2012, foreigners apply for visa to Taiwan must complete the visa application information through the Internet and print the application form and apply for visa in this office.
3 steps for Online filling the visa application form:
1. Fill in the visa application form online (https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw)
2. Print the completed application form and submit the application with the relevant documents to this office
3. Complete the visa application form fill out online
Attention matters:
1. The applicant must complete the application form online. All the items listed in the table are required to fill in, otherwise the visa application will not be accepted.
2. All non-online visa application forms are not accepted.

What are the required entry fields for the visa application form?
Answer: Items must be filled in include:
* The applicant's basic information (nationality, previous or other nationality, name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, marital status, spouse name, occupation, serving organsation or school, expected period of stay in Taiwan and telephone number, and local telephone number, currentaddress and telephone number)
* Applicant's passport information (passport type, passport number, expiry date, date of issue, place of issue)
* What kind of visa is to be applied
* Number of visa entry
* Application Location
* Visit itinerary (purpose of visit, whether it has been issued a visa, date of arrival, scheduled departure date)
* Related person living in Taiwan (relationed person’s name, relationship with applicant, telephone number)
* Whether the applicant is a foreign spouse (the degree of education of a foreign spouse, occupation, presence of introducer, introducer name, occupation, address, telephone)
* Whether the form is filling by other people
* Whether or not the application form is delivered by agent
Question: Can I see which field is mandatory or optional in the visa application form?
Answer: visa application form if field background in dark blue is a mandatory field whilst the light blue background is optional field.
Question: When filling in the information on the Internet, if temporary leaving the computer screen, how to retain the information has been filled?
Answer: Press the "Save Draft" button at the bottom of the screen to save the data. The temporary number will appear at the top left. Please remember this number and enter this number in the future.
Question: Any time restriction for filling in a page?
Answer: The operation time of a page is about 30 minutes. If you fill in a page for more than 30 minutes, the filling process will be automatically suspended. If you do not have "temporary data", you will need to fill in the first page.
Question: After the completion of the information, any time limit for submission of the application to the embassy concerned?
Answer: Once press the "submit" button, if not deliver the application to the designated embassy within 30 days, the information will be automatically deleted.
Question: If the application form is completed online and the information has been submitted and the application number has been generated, but the contents of the input is found error, how to deal with it?
Answer: If the data is completed and the "Submit" button is pressed, the data will no longer be changed. You must re-enter the information to establish a new application. If the data has not been submitted, you may key the temporary number and change the data.
Question: if the date of arrival and departure are yet to be confirmed, how to fill in the application form for such information?
Answer: If the date of arrival and departure date are not clear, please fill in the expected date of arrival and departure.
Question: If the applicant does not know the computer, can it be filled by other?
Answer: The application form can be entrusted by the agent to fill in, but the applicant should personally signed the printed out application form.
Question: If the applicant does not have a printer device when filling the application form, how to print the visa application form?
Answer: If the applicant does not have a printer at hand, the application number will appear after completing the application form information by pressing "Submit". Please remember this application number. Applicants should still try to connect the printer to the Internet computer at later stage and enter the case number and name to print the visa application form.
Question: What if the applicant has only name or surname?
Answer: If the applicant has no name but has surname, then the name field leave blank, if the applicant has name but without surname, then leavethe surname field blank, do not fill in any text (such as None), but two columns must be filled in at least at one column.
Question: When the print function is normal, the visa application is completed and the application number is generated, but the visa application form cannot be printed.
Answer: Please check whether the computer has installed Acrobat Reader software version 8.0 or above or read PDF file format related software.
Question: Why is the calendar field of the date field unable to be selected when you log in? Sometimes the Delete key can not be used?
Answer: The operation of the web page will be varied depending on the user's browser version and the operating system program version. If the calendar field of the date field can not be clicked, it can be entered directly by hand, formatted as Gregorian calendar (YYYY / MM / DD ); If the Delete key is not available when you log in, use the Backspace key instead.
Question: DOMESTIC ID No. and DOMESTIC KTP NO. What does it mean?
Answer: Foreign applicant's home country ID number.

* Please submit your visa application information at https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw and submit your visa application form and print the page 2 and sign it by the applicant. If not deliver to the designated embassy, the information will be automatically deleted
* Photo: 6 months (2 "x 2") Color photo x 2 (1 sticks on the application form; the other is floating), white background
* If you have a Hong Kong resident identity card, please attach a copy of the identity card.
* Proof of purpose: In addition to providing the above documents, please submit the full supporting documents according to the purpose of the visa application (after receiving the application, the applicant may, as the case may require, to provide travel plans (flight booking record), financial proof, proof of relationship, Proof of purpose, details of the relationship or other documents required for the audit and interviews)
