Remind Chinese citizens not to apply for a Guinea-Bissau passport illegally
Recently, the Guinea-Bissau Judicial Police launched a "Red Line Operation" to combat the illegal resale of Guinea-Bissau passports. In recent years, there have been many cases in China where intermediary agencies used the guise of studying abroad and investing in immigration to illegally handle forgery of Guinea-Bissau passports for Chinese citizens, causing a lot of economic losses to the relevant Chinese citizens, and even being incurred by Guinea Bissau when they entered China Immigration detention.
The Chinese Embassy in Guinea-Bissau once again solemnly reminds:
I.Foreign citizens who work and live in Guinea-Bissau with legal documents and meet the relevant conditions of the Guinea-Bissau Nationality Law can apply for Guinea-Bissau citizenship and apply for a passport of that country.
Foreign citizens can apply for Guinea-Bissau citizenship if they meet one of the following conditions:
1. Married to Guinea-Bissau citizens for 3 years and resided in Guinea-Bissau for 1 year.
2. According to the Guinea-Bissau law, the applicant is an adult; has resided in Guinea-Bissau for 6 years; has reached the minimum understanding standard of Portuguese or Creole;
3. Minors are adopted by Guinea-Bissau citizens.
4. If one of the parents joins the Guinea-Bissau nationality, their minor children or incapacitated children may apply for Guinea-Bissau nationality.
II According to Guinea-Bissau's Official Gazette No. 37 of 2013, Guinea-Bissau has stopped issuing and using old passports (Figure 1) since December 31, 2015, and fully implemented the new electronic passports (Figure 2).
