What should the dependant (Mainland resident) do after obtaining the visa/entry permit label issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department?
1. Introduction
If dependant (Mainland resident) is approved to come to Hong Kong by Hong Kong Immigration Department, the dependant will obtain a visa/entry permit label. After obtaining the visa/entry permit label, the dependant must apply for the relevant endorsement for coming to Hong Kong in the Exit and Entry Department of the Public Security Bureau where the household registration is located. The dependant should affix the label to the blank page of his/her Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau and present it to the Immigration Department upon arrival in Hong Kong. If the dependant holds an e-permit to Hong Kong, he/she must present his/her visa/entry permit label together with his/her e-permit to the officers of the Immigration Department.
2. The Hong Kong endorsement (stay endorsement D) process
①Notice: The stay endorsement (D) is issued to the dependants of the main applicant who is going to Hong Kong for studying, taking up employment, becoming as resident, taking up training together.
②Handling Department
For application for the endorsement of staying in Hong Kong and Macau, the applicant should go to the Exit and Entry Department of the Public Security Bureau where his/her household registered or he/she resides or studies for submitting the application with supporting document. If the applicant has a valid Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau, he/she may entrust others to go to the Exit and Entry Department of the Public Security Bureau where his/her Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau issued for submission his/her application. The trustee should present the entrust letter with his/her original identity card and photocopy. If the applicant is in Hong Kong and Macau, he/she may not entrust others to apply on his/her behalf
③The necessary documents:
I) Complete the application form of the China Citizen Exit and Entry Permit;
II) The original of the valid Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau (if not, can apply for in the meanwhile)
III) The original of Residence Identity Card (under the age of 16 and no residence ID card, he/she is required to submit the household register. Applicant should accompanied by a guardian, in addition to submit the documents specified above, he/she must also submit the Birth Certificate or the notarized certificate of guardianship and the ID Card of the guardian. If the guardian cannot accompany him/her, he/she may entrust others to do so. The accompanying person shall submit his/her resident ID card and the guardian’s entrust letter.
IV) Visa/Entry Permit issued by Hong Kong Immigration Department.
V) 1 piece of standard size of passport photo (except valid holders of Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau).
④Process time of the application:
Application for the Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau and the endorsement: 10 working days
3、Application of Hong Kong ID Card procedures
①Notice: The age of 11 or above of Hong Kong resident (including those who is allowed to stay in Hong Kong for more than 180 days), must apply for HK ID card. The children who are under the age of 11 need not to apply for, They can live in Hong Kong with a valid Visa/entry permit label issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
②Handling Department
Five offices of the Hong Kong Immigration Department may submit application, including: Kowloon East, Kowloon West, Shatin, Fo Tan, Yuen Long.
③Relevant documents:
I) Those who aged 18 or above, complete the form ROP1;
Those who aged 11 to 17, complete the form ROP2;
Children who are under the age of 11 do not need to apply for an ID card.
II) The valid Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau;
III) Visa/entry permit label issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
IV) The white note issued by the Customs for the first time come to Hong Kong.
V) Those whose aged between 11 and 17, a birth certificate is required.
④Time required:
10 working days (except Saturday and Public Holidays).
