Hong Kong Covention and Exhibition Centre
The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, located at 1 Expo Road, Wan Chai, is one of the representatives of the latest buildings in the district. In addition to major convention and exhibition purposes, there are two hotels, one office building and one luxury apartment. Its new wing is built from reclamation, with several auditoriums and exhibition halls, distributed in three-story buildings and one of the largest exhibition halls in the world. The Golden Bauhinia Square, a symbol of Hong Kong's return, is the venue for the daily flag-raising ceremony. The ceremony of Hong Kong's return to China, also held here on 1 July 1997, became the focus of international attention. Its unique wing-spreading form also adds color to the beautiful Victoria Harbour. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre has served as the main venue for a number of world conferences. Apart from the Hong Kong Return to China ceremony held on 1 July 1997, the World Bank Annual Conference 1997, the Asia Telecommunications Exhibition 2000, etc. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre was also the main venue for the 2005 WTO Ministerial Conference.
