Hong Kong DSE Exemption Enrollment
The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Student Enrollment Program (Diploma Examination Admission Program) for Mainland universities will start accepting online registration on March 1. According to the specific arrangements for the 2021/2022 school year diplomatic admission plan announced by the Ministry of Education, 127 mainland higher education institutions will exempt Hong Kong students from the Joint Enrollment Examination and will select Hong Kong students based on the results of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education. Students can choose from 4 universities, each with 4 subjects, and a total of 16 volunteers, which are allocated sequentially, that is, each student will only be admitted for 1 degree. The Examination-Free Admissions Plan accepts candidates who have combined their test scores for two consecutive years, and the two test scores of the same subject are the best.
DSE is one of the unified public examinations before admission to universities in Hong Kong. It was established by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (hereinafter referred to as the HKEA) in 2012. It is equivalent to the college entrance examination in the Mainland, so it has always been called the "Hong Kong Gaokao". Different from the 100 or 150 points system in the Mainland, each subject in Hong Kong is graded according to 5**, 5*, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, a total of 4 core subjects + 2 to 3 in Chinese, English, Mathematics, and Liberal Studies Elective subjects. To go to university, you must have a score of "33222", that is, Level 3 in Chinese and English, and Level 2 in Mathematics, General Studies, and Electives.
