Geography
Saint Kitts and Nevis is located in the north east of the Caribbean Leeward Islands. It is composed by the island St. Kitts (Saint Christopher Island), Nevis and other islands Sambu Herrero. The Capital City Basseterre is located at the island of St. Kitts. The smaller island of Nevis is located 3 kilometers southeast of the holy place, the two separated by a known as the Narrows strait. The country has a tropical climate, the average temperature of 26 ℃. Due to milder winds, seasonal climate change is not obvious. From May to November is rainy season, the average annual rainfall in St. Kitts Island is 1,400 mm and Nevis Island is 1,220 mm. A Brief History
St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis original inhabitants of the Caribbean people (Caribs). 1493 Christopher Columbus aboard in his second voyage island of St. Christopher (St. Kitts), and his name (Spanish: San Cristóbal, English:. St Christopher) named the island. Also at the same time Columbus discovered sailing smaller Nevis, whose name is derived from the Spanish, the "snow" (Nieves), because Columbus thought the island seemed a snow-capped at the top of the mountain. Current constitution at independence was born September 19, 1983. St. Kitts and Nevis Constitution federalism granted Nevis maximum autonomy. St. Kitts and Nevis citizens have free access to primary health care services provided in the country, including 11 health centers in St. Kitts and 6 in Nevis, including maternal, child health, chronic disease management and general medical services.
