Regarding China's adjustment of epidemic prevention and control measures, Acting Consul General Wu Jian said that China has announced interim measures on the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel, and the relevant measures will be implemented on January 8. Cancel the nucleic acid testing and centralized isolation of all personnel coming to China after entering China, cancel the control measures for the number of international passenger flights, further resume work and production, business, study abroad and other arrangements for foreigners to come to China, and gradually resume the entry and exit of passengers at water and land ports, and resume in an orderly manner Chinese citizens travel abroad, etc.
Regarding the impact of China's reopening on the world economy, Acting Consul General Wu said that in the past ten years, the average growth rate of China's economy has been 6.6%, and the average contribution rate to world economic growth has exceeded 30%. Last year, China's GDP accounted for 18.5% of the world's total economy, and its foreign trade totaled US$6.9 trillion, ranking it firmly as the world's second largest economy and largest trading nation. In the face of complex and severe domestic and foreign situations, the fundamentals of China's economy, which is stable and improving in the long run, have not changed, and it has always been a positive energy for global prosperity and development. Regarding energy cooperation between China and Arab countries, Acting Consul General Wu said that from December 7 to 10, 2022, President Xi Jinping will attend the first China-Arab States Summit, the China-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit and pay a state visit to Saudi Arabia. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, it is the largest and highest-level diplomatic action to the Arab world. During the visit, the two sides reached an agreement on building a closer China-Arab community with a shared future, and announced the promotion of "eight major joint actions", covering support for development, food security, health, green innovation, energy security, dialogue among civilizations, youth development, and security and stability. . Among them, in the field of energy, the Chinese side will work with the Afghan side to build a China-Arab clean energy cooperation center, support Chinese energy companies and financial institutions to participate in renewable energy projects with a total installed capacity of more than 5 million kilowatts in the country, and carry out energy technology research and development with the Afghan side cooperation, strengthen energy policy coordination, and promote the establishment of a fair, equitable, balanced and inclusive global energy governance system.
Regarding the relationship between China and Africa, Acting Consul General Wu said that China sincerely develops relations with Africa and is committed to helping Africa achieve peace, security and development. We have always believed that Africa should become a major stage for international cooperation rather than an arena for competition among major powers. We welcome the international community including Turkey to continue to care about and support Africa, and we are willing to carry out tripartite or multi-party cooperation with Turkey and other countries in Africa.
Regarding the cooperation between China and Turkey in jointly building the "Belt and Road", Acting Consul General Wu said that both China and Turkey are important emerging market countries, major developing countries and members of the G20, and are important partners in jointly building the "Belt and Road". In recent years, under the joint leadership of the two heads of state, China-Turkey strategic cooperative relations have been continuously deepened, and the integration of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the "Middle Corridor" project has achieved fruitful results. As representatives of emerging economies, China and Turkey should further strengthen unity, tap potentials, and deepen cooperation, so as to make due contributions to the common development of the two countries and the sustainable prosperity and stability of the world.
