Birżebbuġa
The Birżebbuġa is a small but lively seaside resort and an important archaeological site. Located in the south-east of Malta, about 8km from the capital, Valletta, it is Birżebbuġa Maltese for “The island of the olive tree”. For decades, the Birżebbuġa has been one of Malta's most popular tourist attractions, notably a beach called Pretty Bay and archaeological sites such as Gar Dalam. Beautiful Bay scenery beautiful, blue sky under the blue water and soft sand beach. Every weekend, many tourists come to play, very lively. Jadalam, which means“Black hole” in Maltese, is a hole 144 meters deep, but only 55 meters is now open to tourists. It is a very important archaeological site, because the earliest evidence of human habitation in State of Malta was found here. The artifacts unearthed here date back more than 7,400 years to a new era. At the bottom of the cave, fossils of hippos, dwarf elephants, microbes and birds have been found dating back 500,000 years, and archaeologists believe the ancient site may have been a land bridge to Europe.
