Galata Kulesi
Galata Kulesi, a lighthouse built by the Byzantine Emperor Anastasius in 507, was originally built of wood and was later burned during the Crusades until it was rebuilt and resurrected by the Genoese in 1348 . This vicissitudes of the ancient tower has also served several functions: guard tower, prison, observatory.
From the Galata Tower, you can have a bird's-eye view of some cities in Istanbul. There are many coffee bars and restaurants here, usually open from 9:00 to 24:00. You can also enjoy oriental belly dancing and midnight performances in Galata Tower.
