Irish-born children will get Irish citizenship sooner
Good news: Irish-born children will get Irish citizenship sooner
The current Minister of Justice, Helen McEntee (Helen McEntee) has just promised that the "Proposal on the Legalization of Undocumented Persons" will be announced around September in the third quarter of this year, and applications will be accepted before the end of this year. Legalize the status of as many as 17,000 undocumented people living there, including 3,000 children.
Following discussions between Attorney General Helen McEntee and Labor Senator Ivana Bacik to speed up Irish citizenship for children born in Ireland, there will be no automatic citizenship for children born in Ireland. To obtain Irish citizenship, the decision to apply for naturalization and live in love has been reduced from the previous five years to three years.
Attorney General Helen McEntee said: "It is a privilege and an honor to be granted Irish citizenship and thousands of people apply for naturalization every year. I want to reduce the number of children born in Ireland who are not Irish nationals. Reducing the waiting time for naturalization will provide comfort and reassurance to many families across the country. This bill is consistent with my commitment to providing a fair immigration system since I took office, and I am pleased to speak with Labor Senator Ivana on this proposal Ivana Bacik and look forward to implementing it as soon as possible."
