2023 "Happy Chinese New Year" Spring Festival Garden Party Held in Sofia

On January 20, 2023, the opening ceremony of the 2023 "Happy Chinese New Year" Spring Festival Garden Party hosted by the Sofia Chinese Cultural Center and supported by the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria was held at the Sofia Chinese Cultural Center. More than 50 people including friendly people from all walks of life in Bulgaria, media reporters and members of the "China-Bulgaria Friendship House" initiative were invited to attend.

At the opening ceremony, teachers and students from Sofia 138 Middle School performed the dance "Sparks", and the Bulgarian Martial Arts Association showed Tai Chi and traditional martial arts routines, winning rounds of applause and applause.

In a joyful and peaceful atmosphere, the guests learned about the historical origin and cultural knowledge of the Chinese New Year together, participated in the traditional New Year customs such as guessing lantern riddles, writing "Fu" and making dumplings, and raised their own "Fu" to complete the "family portrait" "The group photo is full of flavor and fun.

From January 20th to 22nd, the Sofia China Cultural Center held a three-day "Happy Chinese New Year" Spring Festival garden party. The 7 floors of the center building are open to the public all day. Activities include photo exhibitions, Hanfu try-ons, calligraphy classes, and dumpling making , food appreciation, cultural and creative bazaars, martial arts performances, entertainment, music gatherings, etc., aiming to show the rich cultural connotations of the Chinese New Year, and to spend joy, celebration, reunion and harmony with Bulgarian friends.
