Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park was established on August 1, 1916.  It shows hundreds of thousands of years of volcanic activity, crust movement, and unique ecological evolution.  The region is home to a variety of landscapes, from the sea to one of the world's largest active volcanic peaks.  Kilauea is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, and scientists can learn about the birth of the Hawaiian islands and the changes in the landscape.
