Cascais
Cascais is located 30 kilometers west of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, with an area of about 100 square kilometers and a population of 184,000. It is the third largest city in Portugal. With convenient transportation and developed tourism, it is a famous seaside tourist resort in Portugal. The author of the Bond series, Ian Fleming, was a well-known British agent during World War II, and Cascais was the main location for his work. Many of Fleming's 007 novels were created here.
In the late 19th century, when bathing in sea water was very popular, the city became a famous seaside resort. The chief architect of this reform was King Don Lewis I of Portugal.
