Shipka Memorial
The church was originally built to commemorate the birth of Jesus, formerly known as "Храм паметник" Рождество Христово", built by the local Orthodox Church in the 17th century. The church is a typical Eastern European Orthodox style building with a golden onion dome and a bell tower up to 53 meters , there is a huge 12-ton bell. It was later called the Shipka Memorial Hall to commemorate the Russian warrior Shipka. The soldier's sarcophagus is still placed in the crypt of the church.
