Tsarevets Fortress
The famous [Tsarevets Fortress]. It was also translated as: Charewitz Castle. About 1 km from the center of Veliko Tarnovo, it has been occupied by Thracians, Romans and Byzantines for thousands of years. What we can see now is a triangular castle surrounded by high walls, with more than 400 houses and 18 churches, most of which were built in the 5th and 12th centuries.
