Delphi

Delphi is located in Phocis, Greece. In 1987, UNESCO listed it as a cultural heritage and included it in the "World Heritage List". Delphi is a world-famous famous monument in the deep mountains of Parnassos, 150 kilometers away from Athens. It is mainly composed of Apollo Sun Temple, Athens Goddess Temple, theatre, sports training ground and sports field, the most famous of which is the temple of Apollo, the sun god who symbolizes light and youth in ancient Greece and is in charge of music, poetry, medicine and animal husbandry . The ancient Greeks believed that Delphi was the center of the earth, the "navel of the earth". "Earth's navel" allusion In order to determine where the center of the earth is, Zeus released two eagles from the two poles of the earth to fly opposite each other. The two eagles met at Delphi, and Zeus concluded that this was the center of the earth, so he placed a round stone in Delphi as a sign. Today the stone is housed in the Delphi Museum. Evaluation The pan-Hellenic temple of Delphi is the place where the god Apollo announced his oracle, and the site of the "navel of the world" (note: the center of the world) Omphalos. The temple is harmoniously combined with the beautiful scenery, and at the same time endowed with sacred significance. Since the 6th century BC, it has been the religious center of ancient Greece and a symbol of Greek unity.
