Acropolis
The Acropolis of Athens is the most outstanding ancient architectural complex in Greece, also known as Acropolis of Athens, originally meaning "city on high" or "city-state on a high hill", with a history of 3,000 years ago.
The site of the Acropolis is located in the southwest of today's Athens city. It is the most famous ancient building complex in Greece and the center of religion and politics. The main existing relics are the Acropolis Mountain Gate, the Temple of Athena, the Parthenon, the Temple of Eriktion, the Temple of Victory, etc., and there is also a modern architectural Acropolis Museum.
Along the direction of the mountain in Athens, tourists can climb up the Acropolis from the west side to see the crystallization of ancient Greek civilization gathered on the top of the mountain. The Acropolis is also famous all over the world because of these museums. There are various original sculptures and other cultural relics of the Acropolis, as well as various magnificent art facilities such as amphitheatres and concert halls.
