Peshawar Museum
The Peshawar Museum is located in Peshawar, Pakistan, which was the military, political and cultural center of the ancient Kushan Empire. Unfortunately, the Buddhist architecture of that era was completely destroyed due to the war. Only those buried in the ground are preserved, most of them in the Peshawar Museum. Both Fa Xian and Xuan Zang visited Peshawar, called it “Nature’s Storehouse” with abundant natural resources. The Peshawar Museum has a large collection of Buddhist statues from the Gandhara period, with unique features and a style of Greek art. Xuanzang passed through in the seventh century on his pilgrimage -- that's the first sentence on the plaque at the Peshawar Museum.
