Tara Mountain
Tara Mountain is a hill 12 kilometers south of Naven, the capital of Mise County, Ireland. It is near the Boyne River and is about 154 meters high. It is the location of the country of Tara King in Irish legend.
If visitors come here without any background knowledge, it is hard to imagine that this silent countryside with green grass is actually the most sacred place in the ancient Irish myths and legends. It is located in the commanding height of the vast plain. The ancient people regarded it as a place bordering the sky, and it is also the burial place of "the people of Dana" in ancient legend.
This is the spiritual and historical center of Ireland. There were royal sacrifices, spectacular wars and massacres dating back 4000 years. More than 100 Irish kings were buried in Tarachu, which was once the capital of Ireland. Tara Mountain is an important archaeological center with rich prehistoric human remains. There are countless excavation sites here. The circular fortress, ancient tombs and grand banquet hall have been identified. A large number of cultural relics have been unearthed, not only with the records of Irish activities in previous dynasties, but also with traces of prehistoric civilization. It can be said that it is a national museum for studying Irish history.
There is a raised mound in the hill, which is the oldest and most eye-catching relic of Tara Hill. It is called the "Hostage Tomb". It was built in 1800 BC, but it is still closed. Tourists cannot visit it. The reason is still a mystery. A raised stone not far away also has its own origin. It is called the Stone of Destiny. It is said that this kind of stone has strong magic power. It is said that the king must put his feet on this stone before he ascends the throne. Only when the stone pillar makes three cries can he obtain God's permission, otherwise he is not qualified to ascend the throne.
